March 19, 2012Frank,
So sorry to delay answering your nice note on my guestbook. Yes, Ed sent me the article. Congratulations! Sorry to say that age is catching up with me. I found my attempted cross country in ’09 more difficult than I expected. Just don’t seem to have the time to train.
I’ve enclosed a picture of my latest bike, a Bacchetta short wheelbase.
Please let me know of your planned adventures and accomplishments.

March 19, 2012Hi Steve,
No problem, frequently find myself coming and going and forget to respond to email. Sorry your attempted cross country wasn’t entirely a success. “It is better to have tried and failed than to never have tried”. Don’t remember whose quote this is but I’ve always liked and used it. You are a better man for your efforts and I’m confident you have some great memories.
Nice recumbent, never have been able to ride one without wanting to fall over by the time I get my feet that far up in the air. How is it for climbing hills?
My next adventure will be to ride along the Mississippi River from the headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico or vise-versa. Hopefully that will happen sometime this summer.
You may follow and/or read about my adventures at http://www.oldguyonabicycle.com My website has a few adventures I’ve done in addition to my Crossing America last year.
Take care and keep me in posted of your trials and tribulations on a bicycle.
Your new friend,
Frank

January 31, 2012Frank, I just read your article in Ageless magazine… very inspiring!! I took a spinning class with you last year at the YMCA but I did not realize the extent of your trip & what it was for. Awesome job. I just wanted to send you an e-mail & let you know how great I think it is that you rode across America & for such a great cause.
Have a great day,

January 9, 2012Hi Joe, It was an awesome adventure. One of the biggest surprises has been the number of folks who have been inspired to live their dream.

January 6, 2012Yeaaaaaaaaaa! CONGRATULATIONS OVER AND OVER!!!!!!!!!
I’m not sure that “old man on a bike” fits any longer…….”stud muffin” and “superman” are cute and fun but maybe now it should be simply “Dream Catcher”.
Good for you Frank. I am proud of you and can’t even imagine the incredible memories you made, people you met and things you saw. How wonderful for the Class of 1965 to have one of its own do something so noteworthy and powerful, especially at age 65!
Way to go Friend!
Peace, Bonnie xo

January 6, 2012Bonnie,
Well thank you very much. You just made my day. I like the “Dream Catcher” handle may start using.
Thank you for the good vibes. May you have a great weekend, second thought make that the year!
Always your friend, Frank

January 6, 2012Frank, or should we call you “stud-muffin”, as they say in Chicago – you are “da MAN”!!! What spectacular pictures not to mention your spectacular “feat” or should I say “feet – da both of them”!
I particularly liked your Kansas Cadillac – yep, see a bunch of these in and around Wichita.
Your ghost writer – anyone we BOTH may know?
Be sure to let me know if you’ll be in Wichita in the future – you are welcome to stay with us if you need a roof.
I’d love to hear, from “da MAN” about your experiences on the road over a cold brewskie or two.
God’s speed ….
ady

January 6, 2012Hi Greg!
Love your comments “stud-muffin” hadn’t heard that in quite a few years.
Yep, saw quite a few of them Kansas Cadillac the picture is one saw in Ness City.
My Ghost Writer was in the Class of 66, don’t know if you know them. I wish I could share the name but if I did was told I’d be killed.
No plans currently to be in Wichita but may consider coming over for a gun show in the future.
I’d very much like to sit down to chat over a couple brewskies.
Take care my friend.
