Frank Briscoe of Frank’s Center Bikes Across U.S.A.
Frank Briscoe of Nevada, MO plans to ride his bicycle across
America. Symbolically and especially for the occasion, Frank’s bike is painted red, white and blue to honor America’s history and to commemorate his event. While he has never named any of his bikes, he’s calling this one “Spirit” to represent the courage and can do attitude of our country and his adventure.
Frank’s journey begins June 1 when he leaves for the most demanding and ambitious adventure of his life. Over four months, Frank will bike more than 6,000 miles crossing 16 states from the upper NW Anacortes in Washington State ending in Key West, FL. “I look forward to be inspired by the grandeur and beauty of America, meeting the incredibly good folks who make our great Country, while exercising my body, mind and soul,” Briscoe said. “I am celebrating my 65th birthday in a very big way by doing something huge and extraordinary.”
Frank’s chosen charity is Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This is not the first time Frank has been riding for MS. For more than six years, he has been raising money for MS research. Frank says, “It’s becoming personal for me. Ozark Region alone has more than 8,000 MS victims. I have come to know many of them over the years and have seen first hand their courage in coping with this debilitating disease each day. That’s why I am setting my fundraising goal as aggressively as the disease. My goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000.”
Frank has established a website where you can follow him and read about all of his biking adventures. You will also have an opportunity to purchase “Say ‘No to MS’” athletic Socks. Proceeds go to the Ozark Region MS Society and towards Frank’s fundraising goal. His website name is “Old Guy on a Bicycle” and the link is: http://www.oldguyonabicycle.com.
If you prefer to send a donation, note “Frank Briscoe” on the memo line of your check as the cyclist you’re donating to and mail to: “Bike the US for MS”, Cyclist: Frank Briscoe, 1302 Gladewood Dr., Blacksburg, VA 24060.
